Release The Sunbird
Back to my music obsession. I went to see Release The Sunbird at the Independent in San Francisco. Shooting live music is different for me. I shied away from it before. I like to create things with my images and I think that’s hard, very hard when shooting people on stage. The lighting, the emotion etc. is all there for you. Plus, I’m not sure it’s good to combine my 2 obsessions. But anyway I did. I was looking for a way to not document, per se, but to capture something different, a mood maybe. I went into it thinking it would be black-and-white, but the color was so amazing. This could be the start of something dangerous.( If anyone is inspired by these and feels the need to have me photograph The Decembrists I won’t complain ( I’m just saying.))
