Blue Bottle Coffee. That used to be the 1st thing I would say when I woke up. My daughters even made a song about it. It was an addiction. I’ve cut back and, my bank account and nerves are thanking me. But, I still frequent there often. Absolutely amazing coffee with good food. So I was thrilled to find out that I was shooting the CEO of Blue Bottle, James Freeman. This was shot for the Wall Street Journal. These kind of shoots often go fast with a lot to do in a short amount of time. Would love to go back there with a full set of lights. There’s just so much possibility. But back to bluebottle. What a great place. Kudos, I think, to the Bay Area that seems to foster this type of work environment. Mr. Freeman is really a amazing leader knowing everyone personally. There was a lot of joking, and laughing at the site with an great group of people. It really seemed like a fun, creative place to work. However, I can’t imagine having all that coffee around me. I probably never would get to sleep again. ( I think I need some work on my adjectives )

Annie,
Saw your beautiful photo of James Freeman today due to a link in Peter King’s column in SportsIllustrated.com (He has a section in each column entitled “Coffeenerdness.”) I am an aspiring photographer and always on the look out for the websites/blogs of talented photographers. I am inspired by your great ability to capture mood and emotion in your images. Keep up the great work!
